COVID-19 INFORMATION

The COVID-19 Pandemic and high school voter registration

We are currently re-evaluating our in-person high school classroom registration program due to the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic and growing concern about the Delta variant. Our number one concern is for the safety and health of students, educators, and volunteers.

We will return to classrooms in communities with low rates of COVID-19 at the invitation of our school partners when it is safe to do so.

We encourage all students, educators, and volunteers to wear masks not only to protect themselves but also to step up for vulnerable members of the community. Please remember that all children under the age of 12 are unvaccinated.

The COVID-19 Pandemic and voter registration on higher education campuses

We will continue voter registration on those higher education campuses which have returned to in-person learning. In partnership with campus administration, Student Voter Initiative volunteers and Campus Ambassadors will adhere to all campus-specific COVID-19 guidelines, wear masks during voter registration and civic engagement activities, and conduct activities outdoors or in well-ventilated areas whenever possible.

All employees of the Student Voter initiative who are eligible to receive the vaccine will be vaccinated prior to engaging with the public. Because of the nature of civic engagement work, non-vaccinated volunteers will be asked not to participate in in-person events for their safety and the safety of the communities we serve.
